Come forth to the light of things, let nature be your teacher

Bristol Forest School – the inspirational, outdoor classroom where children explore nature, develop confidence and get muddy!
Established in 2004, BFS is Bristol’s longest running Forest School with sessions taking place in our own woodland as well as on-school sites managed by a team of dedicated Forest School practitioners who offer a variety of nature-inspired outdoor activities.
OUR WOODLAND is sustainably managed and designed to combine natural woodland elements with well organised activity areas to support learning and increase confidence. Each of these spaces is extremely motivating to encourage play, curiousity and adventure.
Based in private woodland, our boundaries are natural and simple to promote independence within a secure environment.
OUR STAFF are highly skilled, Forest School trained nature-lovers – including teachers, bushcraft experts and conservationists.
We are committed to providing positive outdoor learning experiences and exceptional care for all children.
We work as a team to constantly improve practice and follow a Bristol Forest School Staff Handbook to ensure quality and safety through consistent procedures and clear policies.
OUR SESSIONS are imaginative, varied and stimulating. Activities are specialised with age-appropriate elements and pitch for 0-12 year olds.
Forest School programmes are structured for long-term development across the curriculum; staff also have the freedom to adapt sessions based on the enthusiasm or requirements of a group.
All activities are fully risk-assessed.
